Our intentions have so much to do with taming our wild horses. We show up with our intentions. There is a thing about “intentions!” Did you notice that the word is plural? Our intentions seems to come to us in the form of choices. And “intentions” is related to most all the links in our chain. “We need help, Buddy!”
“Intentions need to be thought through and considered; what is going to work best, and why? The “why” is where you are going to find your answer. So you see, “Intentions” is a link, but will always be on the outside looking in.”
“Thank you, Buddy, but I’m still feeling frustrated. Somehow, with all my good intentions, things just don’t seem to turn out the way I expected.” “Well Little Lou, maybe it’s time to go back to your corral and check on your horses.” And, lets take a look at that those chains with the links that are connected!” “I can do that Buddy!”
In many ways our chain is much like our corral. The chain has links, while the corral has fence posts. The links and the posts, all tell us something about living our lives “on purpose for a purpose.” In my book, “Thoughts for a Lifetime” there are six chains. Each chain has something to do with our emotional well-being. In “Taming the Wild Horses” the fence posts represents a process for controlling our decision making, focusing on fewer consequences, with better results. It’s all a work in progress. “I always appreciate your insight, Buddy.”
Here I am, living in Jackson Hole, Wyoming thinking, "What can I tell you about my life and my own experiences?" Having grown up in Houston, Texas, then moving to Dallas, where my children grew up. We were fortunate enough to have a second home in Jackson Hole. At 84 now, I am over-read on self-help information. Self-awareness and being, or becoming more aware of my own behavior, as it relates to myself and then to others, is where my thinking and doing takes me. I'm about moving forward, for acknowledging to addressing today's problems, and what we can do to make a difference. It's important! At this point, I am only the messenger, offering solutions to the current suicide and drug crisis among our young people, in today's world; with a pathway to follow. Check out my website: tamingthewildhorses.com Currently, I am working at The Historic Wort Hotel's gift shop. Also, volunteer at our Senior Center. I enjoy being at home, cooking, having a garden (a good thinking and writing place), being with friends exploring the landscape, (which is amazing in Jackson Hole) and checking out our thrift stores. In just a couple of weeks, I'll be driving to Denver to be grandma to my teenage granddaughters for a month. In October, I'll be in Houston for a book-signing event for, "Taming the Wild Horses. Then back to my regular routine here in Jackson Hole. "Happy Trails Everyone!" B. Louise Bayer/Martens
